Frugal Iced Coffee Recipe!

Do you love Iced Coffee?  I am a HUGE fan of Iced, Hot, and Frozen coffee!  Give me anything coffee related and I’m one happy girl!  Every once in a while I will buy iced coffee – but it’s definitely not frugal so I have learned to make my own. Below is the recipe I use:

Ingredients Needed:
Strong Ground Coffee
Ice
Creamer – Flavored, Half & Half, or Milk
Sweetener-  Carmel, Butterscotch, Chocolate Syrup, Sugar

To get started, brew a strong pot of coffee.  I usually let the coffee cool a while and then poor it into a pitcher which I keep in our refrigerator to have on hand.  However if you are planning to drink it right away, you will want to add in about 1/2 – 3/4 more coffee grounds to your brew, as you will need a lot of ice to cool it down which will dilute the coffee.  On the off chance you make your coffee too strong, just add in some cold water a little at a time.  I have also found that crushed ice is very appealing in Iced Coffee!

I absolutely love  Smucker’s Sundae Syrup!   If you are looking for an Iced Latte taste, this is the way to go!  Add in a few table spoons of Carmel Smuckers Sundae Syrup and some Half & Half and you have yourself the tastyiest Iced Coffee ever!  To change it up a bit, Ill use The Smuckers Butterscotch syrup and if you like Moca Latte’s, give the Chocolate syrup a try.

Since there are so many great deals on coffee creamer, Ill add one of the flavored kinds to the Iced Coffee and its great too!  I personally don’t think it needs any extra sugar but a little syrup or sugar can be added.

You can also follow all the steps above with some extra ice and add it to a blender for a Frozen Coffee.  It always tastes better with a little whipped cream!  ;o)

I dont drink ice coffee but i have a great tip for those who do… anytime you have left over coffee pour it into your ice trays and freeze it so when you make your next cup you will have frozen coffee ice, instead of water, helps with the watering down…. hope this helps out all ice coffee drinkers..

My dad taught me how to make iced coffe using instant coffee- everyone loves it! Just heat about a quarter cup of water in the microwave for 1 minute, add one tablespoon of instant coffee, and two tablespoons of sugar, stir, add ice and fill the glass the rest of the way with milk.

Super fast, super easy.

I make my own latte each morning using a hand-held milk frother like this one:

Just like the recipe above – use any coffee you want – I like using flavored coffee (pumpkin spice my current FAV). Make a 1/2 cup of coffee, warm milk in microwave, froth with frother, add any type of sweetener, and combine. YUM and cheap!

When I said make a 1/2 cup of coffee – I meant pour the coffee to equal about 1/2 of your coffee mug of coffee. I have a Keurig, so I just make 1 coffee mug at a time. :)
