Below are some things I learned during my trip to California. These are not thing I learned at the actual Blog Conference, I will share some of that later.
A few things to keep in mind while reading this:
I’m a mom to four children aged 10, 8, 5, 3
I have lived in central florida for 27 years.
I’ve been with my husband for 12 years. I am not a world traveler-I am not a traveler at all…especially without my hubby!
**Don’t take cvs and walgreens for granted. We have them on every other corner in Florida. They are a little tougher to find here.
**California rolls taste better in California!
**I miss Publix….I think I’m slightly addicted.
**It’s ok to splurge sometimes….especially if it’s chocolate.
**I now know I will run for coupons……especially for chocolate coupons…..
**I have no sense of direction. Ok maybe that’s not something I JUST learned. But it’s confirmed.
**I’m a big girl now. I can get around in a large city by myself. I made it across the country for the first time by myself.
**I’m just not that cool anymore. Not sure I was ever THAT cool (see picture above). Security only let the COOL people in.
I didn’t really try to go to this elite event, I did have fun watching all the beautiful people though!
*There are no blinky coupon machines at Ralphs. And no peelies….how do people survive?
*Walk. It’s more fun than the cab. And you can get an ice cream without so much guilt.
*I didn’t know the above sign existed until now.
*If you choose a cab make sure you have small bills or make sure to ask if the driver has change before you get in.
* Apparently what I call a mountain is just a hill here in California.
*When it comes to my feet, comfort trumps fashion. Period.
*Save time and Embarrassment — wait to put on jewelry, belts, and sweaters til your through security.
*Going from six people to just one is nice for a day….or two…then it’s just too boring. My kids make life interesting.
*Ever been in a cab with four frugal bloggers and a lost cab driver driving in circles? Gasps, cringing, and frustration ensues as we all watch the meter. Us with our calculators out ready to divide the fare. Then later realizing the trolley would have been a better idea. Ugh.
*Pedicabs are not as exciting as they look. Even when they are free.
*It sure does feel nice to double a coupon!
*California warm is not the same as Orlando warm.
*Bring your bathing suit AND your sweaters to California. Strange but now I know.
*One word. Ghirardelli
*There is a Starbucks on every corner.
**The Bieb is taller.
