The holidays are in full swing. Everyone is out shopping for those last minute gifts. Toys, clothes, gift cards, and more. It can get quite stressful trying to find that perfect, meaningful gift. I’ve seen grandparents that stock up on dozens of toys for the little ones. But, how many toys does a child need? How long will that LEGO set interest the child on your list?
This year, consider the gift that lasts a lifetime. Give that special child in your life the gift of education with a Florida Prepaid savings plan. There are not many gifts out there that impact your entire life like the gift of education. The gift of beginning a Florida Prepaid Savings Plan will last a lifetime.
Graduating college with a load of debt is not a good feeling. I’ve been there. It is stressful and quite overwhelming. I don’t want my children or grandchildren to have that load to carry throughout adulthood. Beginning a Florida Prepaid Savings Plan when they are young will almost guarantee that they will not have to deal with the stress of college debt.
The 1-Year Florida University Plan would make a perfect gift. Plans start at as little as $50 per month. Depending on your budget, you can purchase one year, or 30 credit hours, at a time. There is no pressure to purchase four years at one time if that is not in your budget. Consider purchasing a plan as a family. When grandparents, aunts and uncles purchase a college plan together, it can pay off big time.
The Florida Prepaid College Board’s annual Open Enrollment period is going on now. It started on Oct. 15, 2017 and runs through Feb. 28, 2018. This is the only time of the year you can purchase a Florida Prepaid College Plan.
There are many plans to choose from. This is great because it can fit into just about any budget out there:
