I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Breyers. I attended a Breyers Yummy Fun Ice Cream Workshop and received a travel stipend, free zoo admission, and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
This weekend I attended a “YummyFun” Workshop sponsored by Breyer’s at the Central Florida Zoo. You’re probably wondering what a “YummyFun” workshop is…let me tell you it was an awesome ice cream workshop that my daughter told me was “the most fun I’ve had this summer”. I’m guessing she liked the event!!
During the YummyFun workshop, children were able to make their own special ice cream creation. The tables were stocked with favorite ice cream toppings. Cookies, cherries, sprinkles, and more. The kids could use their own imagination to create their ice cream craft or there were easy to read recipe cards on the table to help give the kids (and adults) ideas. There were also helpful assistants walking around helping with the creations.
My daughter chose to make the Mint Chocolate Chimp from the recipe card. She is only 5 years old, yet she was able to simply follow the directions that I read to her and create an adorable chimp from her ice cream! I was able to take a few pics of her creation, but since we are in Florida…and it was JUNE in Florida, she had to work quick and eat quick before it turned into ice cream soup. We are pretty used to the hot humid weather, so we know how to work fast and eat that ice cream fast. I stole a bite myself and Breyer’s Mint Chocolate Chip Ice cream is DELICIOUS. That was my first experience tasting Breyer’s Mint Ice Cream. Yummy! You can check out all the flavors that Breyer’s offers on the Breyer’s website.
The workshop was a huge success. It was included in the zoo admission which was a bonus! The staff at the event did a great job making sure all of the kids were given ice cream and continued to refill the toppings. Parents and kids seemed to have a great time at this event! I was able to speak with culinary artist Clare Crespo who assisted with the event and created some of the wonderful recipes. She offered some great tips on getting the kids involved in the kitchen. Creating their own ice cream masterpiece was a great idea in my opinion. I love this quote from Clare:
We have a summer birthday in our family and I have now decided to add an ice cream sundae bar with some of these YummyFun recipes to the party. I think the kids will love it. It will keep them busy, cool in the Florida heat, and I love that it’s a budget friendly idea! Our favorite flavors are cookies & cream ice cream as well as chocolate chip. So I know those will be part of our summer party menu!
Below are two of the ice cream creation recipes that were shared at the Yummyfun Event:
