We all know how important it is to get EXTRA coupons each week. We know that having only 1 coupon for a buy one get one free sale is not maximizing our savings. So how do we get those extra coupons? Below I discuss purchasing extra papers and coupon swapping:
I’m always asked HOW to get extra coupons for products. We all know that the BEST source for coupons is the newspaper. In my area – the BEST paper is the Orlando Sentinel. If you live in Central Florida, my first suggestion to you is to subscribe to the Orlando Sentinel. You are now allowed up to 4 subscriptions per household. So-if you’re local check out this HOT deal on the Orlando Sentinel.
But, what about those that don’t live in Central Florida....or what about the times when you want even MORE than the 4 paper limit? It does get pricey to purchase a newspaper at cost on Sundays. From .75 up to $3 PER PAPER! That can add up, however, I highly suggest rethinking how you look at the paper. Instead of thinking that $1.50 is expensive, think about the investment you’re making. For $1.50 you are getting hundred’s (sometimes up to $1,500) of dollars in coupons. Even if you don’t use every single coupon, you will easily save $10, $20, even $50 from those valuable inserts.

You can also arrange a coupon swap with friends, family, and co-workers. I have a small group of friends that put coupons aside for each other each week. We have no pets in our home. I have friends that have no children. I put aside my dog food, cat food, etc coupons and they put aside Pediatric medicine, juice, diaper, wipes, etc coupons. And when we see each other we swap! Because they are each getting multiple papers, I have lots of coupons that I need each month.
Don’t have TIME to meet each week or month to swap? How about bringing your coupons to work and leaving them for others that need them? The picture above is the breakroom at Merrill Lynch in downtown Orlando. I taught a class there and they showed me their coupon wall and I had to take a picture. You can use this idea at a multitude of places. Ask your child’s school or daycare if they can place coupons on the wall as shown above. Or, if they can have a small booklet or area where moms & dads can leave coupons for each other. What about at the gym? Your local library? Just ask- you will be amazed how many business’s allow you to do this!
So, even if you don’t have time to meet up with your girl or guy friends each week or month to coupon swap-you can still successfully get those extra coupons!
Be sure to follow COUPONERS UNITED ON FACEBOOK – I’ve seen quite a few people successfully swap/trade coupons on there!
