During my trip to Walt Disney World for the opening of Disneynature’s Monkey Kingdom, I had the opportunity to visit Sanaa, a restaurant located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Sanaa is an East African-inspired eatery, decorated with beautiful handcrafted items. You definitely get the feel of Africa with all of the traditional African decor.
I have heard about the delicious bread appetizer from friends. And that is exactly how we started our meal. An Indian-style Naan bread service with delicious dips and toppings. Some of the accompaniments included roasted red pepper hummus and mango chutney. Very impressive.
This was followed by a butter chicken that was delectable. Served with a side of rice, it’s the perfect African inspired meal. The butter sauce was quite addictive and paired perfectly with the chicken. I found myself pouring the remaining sauce over the rice. And I may have dipped some extra bread into the sauce as well. So good!
Dessert did not disappoint. Enjoy a delicious trio including Tanzanian Chocolate Mousse, Banana Cheesecake, and ice cream.
Nearby, you can gaze out the windows and watch gazelles, zebras, giraffes, kudu, ostriches, cranes and more as you dine.
Join an Animal Specialist for a deliciously insightful, 4-course lunch at Sanaa. The ‘Dine with Animal Specialists’ experience is limited to 12 guests and features a four-course meal with one of Disney’s animal specialists.
After your meal, venture into the secured area for an up-close encounter with the radiated tortoises—one of the most endangered animals cared for at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
CONSERVATION
The price of this dining experience includes a $5.00 contribution to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.
