The end of October marks the beginning of our favorite time of year. The weather begins to slightly cool off. We are in Florida, so it’s never really “cold”, but less humidity is a reason to celebrate. By the time Halloween rolls around, we have worn a sweatshirt at least once. Sounds silly, but here in Florida, we love it. This means we can actually enjoy outdoor activities without completely melting.
Halloween Activities in Florida
Every year we head to at least one pumpkin patch as a family. We have a few near our house that we love and it has become a tradition to visit. Many of the patches have great photo opportunities for the kids.
Our small city of Lake Mary has a great family festival on Halloween as well. There are local vendors, bounce houses for the kids, delicious food, and more great photo opportunities.
We also make it a point to visit Disney for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. The Party starts at the end of August and runs through November 1st. We like to go when it’s cool outside.
Another great Halloween party that we attend each year is Sea World’s Spooktacular. We are blessed to live in an area with so many fun amusement parks and activities.
All of these activities through the month of October lead up to the big night! Like many families throughout the country, we take the kids trick or treating. We have a wonderful neighborhood with hundreds of kids. My husband and I love seeing all the great costumes and catching up with friends in the neighborhood.
We spend 2-3 hours walking the neighborhood collecting candy and treats. Our neighbors put on cookouts and many host haunted houses in their yard or garage. By the time we are home the kids are exhausted, but they are not too tired to compare candy! They usually dump out their candy bags and trade. Then, we have candy for weeks! Did you know that, according to a survey conducted by Crest, 86% of parents eat candy that was given to their child while trick-or-treating? In fact, the average parent eats one-fourth of their child’s Halloween candy. I’m guilty, how about you?
All this candy requires some serious dental care. We tend to up our game on dental hygiene in the last few months of the year. And with good reason. Beginning with Halloween, then on to Thanksgiving, holiday parties, cookie exchanges, and then Christmas and New Years Eve, we snack on goodies almost daily. Good thing Crest has us covered!
When I pick up my favorite candy at CVS, I also stock up on our favorite toothpaste, Crest! I happen to LOVE candy corn and since it’s just pure sugar, my toothbrush gets an extra workout every holiday season.
This week when I headed to CVS for my candy and toothpaste run, I found a blinkie coupon for 50¢ off any Crest Toothpaste! SCORE. This pairs perfectly with the current sale at CVS. Now through 11/3, twin packs of Crest Pro-Health and Crest Pro-Health Advanced, Crest Complete, Crest 3D White, Crest 3D White Brilliance, and Crest 3D White Luxe is Buy One, Get One 50% off. Not only that, but CVS stores are also hosting a major svaings event that can be combined with the Buy One, Get One Offer. Spend $20 on select P&G products and you’ll receive $5 Extra Bucks. You will also find a $1 off coupon insert inside your 10/28 local newspaper!
How much fun are you having for Halloween awesome! I think after all those sweets you definitely do need a good toothpaste to hand and Crest really are great at helping care for your teeth!
It must be so amazing to live so close to Disney so you can be there for all their holiday festivities. I love all the other ones you listed too. Pumpkin patches are always a lot of fun.
