Have you heard of this cool service? You can now see what is coming in YOUR MAILBOX before you go to your mailbox. ha.
Earlier this year, the United States Postal Service launched a new service called Informed Delivery that allows residents to view scans of their mail that is due to be delivered each day! It now is available nationwide. Even better…it’s FREE.
If you want to take advantage of this free service, you’ll receive black and white scans of your actual letter-sized mail pieces via email each morning – note that flat-sized pieces such as catalogues or magazines may be added in the future.
Sounds kind of lazy I suppose…but if you live where there is a lot of snow or other weather conditions, you can check your email to see if it’s worth the trip to the box. Especially great if you have a community mailbox area that is a few streets over. OR if you’re out of town and waiting on a big check to come you can have a family member go grab it for you. Or, if something is shown to you in your email, and you don’t receive it, you can contact the post office to find the missing piece.

Once there, enter your zip code to see if Informed Delivery is available in your area. Then log in to your My USPS account (or sign up if you don’t have one) and click the boxes to opt in.
