Did you know that February is heart health month? February is American Heart Month and is dedicated to raising awareness of the health of our hearts. The leading cause of death in America is heart disease. Eating foods that are healthy for our heart is very important. And those same heart healthy foods are just plain delicious!
BJ’s Wholesale Club carries a wide variety of heart healthy foods. I love the aisles of bright and colorful healthy produce including organic options that are always available at BJ’s wholesale club.
I headed to BJ’s Wholesale Club last week to pick out ingredients to make a delicious heart healthy strawberry smoothie. We used Cascadian Farm Organic Strawberries, Greek Yogurt, and milk. We love the large bags of frozen strawberries as we tend to make a few smoothies each week. I also throw a bowlful in the microwave every now and then and sprinkle a touch of Splenda on them for a quick snack. Yum! I’ll admit it…sometimes we buy 2-3 bags of these delicious fruits each trip. We go through a lot. And you can’t beat the price!
Strawberry Smoothie Recipe
2 containers of strawberry Yoplait Greek Yogurt (5 oz each)
1.5 cups frozen Cascadian Farm organic strawberries
1 cup milk
Blend for approximately 1 minute. Delicious! I love using frozen strawberries instead of ice. Using ice seems to water it down too much!
