How to use coupons with foodstamps

Did you know that you CAN use coupons if you’re on foodstamps? Yes, they can be used together. Many don’t get enough foodstamps to feed their family, so couponing will help you to stretch your budget. It might seem difficult at first, but using coupons with foodstamps is really easy! There is only ONE step you need to remember.

 Separate Your Orders!

Separate your order from foodstamp covered items and items that aren’t covered. I’ve noticed that when you use coupons on items that are NOT covered by foodstamps, they tend to come off your foodstamp total meaning you pay more out of pocket!

So do TWO seperate transactions. For your first transaction do all the items covered by foodstamps, hand over the coupons for those items, then pay with your EBT card. For your second transaction do all the items NOT covered, hand over the coupons for those items, then pay with your preferred method of payment.

Super simple!
Weekly Ads will be one of the online sources where you can find supermarket deals.

Also at Publix you can’t use Food stamps & a Wic card together. I learned that the hard way. WalMart allows both payments together!!

That’s not true. I use wic and ebt together all the time at Publix. You can also use coupons when getting your wic and ebt to lower theamount you are spending.

Bj’s Policy on Foodstamp with Coupons they charge you the cent amount that on the Coupon. So you have to pay out of pocket just to use coupons. This is a new policy that they started I was so shock because I never had to pay until now.

Honestly, to me, that sounds like the store is committing coupon fraud. Say you are buying rice for $1 and you have a .50 coupon making the rice .50. The store will get .50 from your EBT card, .50 from you, and then reimbursed .50 from the manufacturer. So the store is getting paid $1.50 on a $1 box of rice.

The store gets .50 from EBT and .50 from the manufacturer to equal 1.00.

You can also turn your ebt into some cash using http://festyy.com/q3KbVO follow my link and see how easy. And yes you can use coupons in store and go home and use this and have cash sent to your paypal! Even on ebt!

I just bought 3cokes for$3 dollar deal but cashier uses the coupon with my ebt fs. She still charged me .7 cents tax. This is a first. It was at Dollar General. I thought fs was cash free and coupons saved you money not take extra.

I’m in arizona, and had the same problem when I tried couponing for the first time at Fry’s. The stores charge tax on the value of any items covered by both ebt and a coupon, since the coupon is a literal rebate. I was floored when they told me (of course after the coupons had been entered and my card approved the payment) that I owed over $15 in tax. I found this site in my search to find a way around this whole tax issue.

Kroger charges tax on manufacturer’s coupons, as well as their own store savings! So if you get something on sale, they tax it as a store coupon, SC. I paid 8 dollars in savings and was charged 9 cents.
    No other store does this!

I meant I saved eight dollars in savings! Paid nine cents after transaction was finished.

Kroger charges you the food tax on fs purchases. I am really not sure if this is legal as I found an article 10 years ago saying kroger was doing this illegally. I noticed when i shop at walmart it removes the tax and charges me the cost of food to ebt….not so in kroger. It charges my ebt the cost of food, then leaves me with the tax due out of pocket.
