I love my kids, I love my kids, I love my kids…..
Aren’t they cute? So sweet and innocent. This pic was taken last year. They are now 12, 10, almost 7, and 5 years old. And I love them dearly. And with these sweet smiling faces, comes ups and downs. Fun family trips, milestones, sports, school, long conversations, and so much more. Many days filled with joy – and with so many kids – we have days filled with chaos too. Busy schedules, unending laundry, spills, and injuries.
And then there are those days, when as a mom – you want to ….hmm….scream? Give them back? 😉 Last week, I had one of those days. My question to you is “does ANYONE have a coupon for THIS?”
In case you’re having any trouble figuring out just what this awesome piece of artwork is… this is my van door. Driver side. And in nicely written capital letters – my name “MARY”. Is this chalk? Crayon? Pencil? No…sigh. This is the work of a stick, or maybe a rock, or it could be a screwdriver. No one will ever know for sure. You see, with kids, comes some unexpected damage, accidents, and unsightly bills. Like new paint jobs, new dining room tables, and new tv’s. Some of which go unexplained. “It wasn’t me”, “or me”, “or me”, “or me”. I hear that often. I have come to the conclusion that we have a ghost. A not-so-friendly ghost. The kind of ghost that from time to time writes on the wall, or scratches the wood floor, leaves tiny hand prints on freshly washed windows, dumps cups of water on the floor and forgets to clean it up, puts clean clothes into the dirty clothes pile, and my very favorite ghost of all- leaves the water running with the drain closed in the sink – before we leave the house for the entire day – that particular ghost is not allowed to visit again by the way!
On the bright side, a few friends of mine have pointed out the positive things about my new artwork:
Your kids are very creative.
That is the cutest form of vandalism.
Well it was nice of them to have an attack of conscience. Hopefully next time it’ll come sooner. (note-they tried to “erase” what hey did after the fact)
Well it’s the thought that counts.
That’s some pretty neat handwriting!
And the reason that I am not mad at my dear children – my sister’s thoughts: Be proud they can write!!!! Have to enjoy every minute of those beautiful kids!!!
Needless to say, after much discussion, we did finally have 2 kids come forward. My almost 7 year old instructed my 5 year old to “write mommy’s name on her car for her”. And my darling 5 year old agreed that this would be a great surprise for mommy. But, after thinking about it, they decided maybe mommy would be mad. So, instead, let’s scratch it out and not make mommy mad.
So, back to my question, Does anyone have a coupon for this???
