The Advance Auto Parts MONSTER JAM® makes its return to the Orlando area when the annual motor sports spectacle drives into the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium. The Monster Jam is one of Orlando’s most popular and largest single day stadium events,
attracting capacity crowds of over 60,000 fans. A huge field of sixteen monster truckswill compete in side-by-racing and the fan-favorite freestyle competition. One of themany highlights of this year’s event is the 10th anniversary of the sport’s 10-
time World Champion Maximum Destruction. You can find ticket info, dates, and time at the bottom of this post.
I was given the opportunity to attend the Monster Jam this week at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Florida. To be completely honest, this was one review I was contemplating letting my husband do completely on his own, without my help. I was going to have him take 2 of our boys and report back to me on the show. At the last minute I changed my mind and decided to check it out with them. I am SO happy I did. It was amazing. I
am not a WAS not a monster truck fan. I had no desire to watch trucks drive around…before I attended this show. 15 minutes into the show I was clapping and cheering along. I am now a huge fan of “Gravedigger” and “Son Uva Digger…And I even spelled it right that time!
The show started with all of the trucks racing 2 at a time. They raced around the track jumping huge mounds of dirt (ramps). There was some accidental flips and crashes and a few blown tires and spin outs. It was very exciting and I found myself picking a few favorites by the end of the race.
The second half was the most fun! Each truck had a set amount of time to “show their stuff” by jumping RV’s – doing back flips, yes I said BACK FLIPS, and so much more. And at the end, a winner was announced. I never saw myself as a monster truck fan, but I will be back next year.
The kids loved the show. This was their first monster truck show as well. I brought along my almost 12yr old and my 6 1/2 yr old son. My youngest was very impressed with the trucks. He quickly chose Son Uva Digger, Grave Digger, and Iron Man as his faves…and Wolverine….and… yes he really couldn’t choose just one or two. Maybe this pic will show you just how much fun my youngest had:
