Last month I had the opportunity to stay in Mt Dora at a beautiful Inn and enjoy the city for 2 days. Mt. Dora is about 20min outside of Orlando. It’s a quiet city with a ton of history!! I took my sister with me and we had a great time.
As soon as we arrived into town we fell in love with it. The town is beautiful. The streets are lined with adorable antique stores, restaurants, and so much more. We dropped off our luggage at the Mt. Dora Historic Inn and headed out to do some shopping. Here are a few of our favorite stores:
Em’z on 5th – the owner was extremely attentive & helpful. The clothing was unique – the jewelry was beautiful and almost 100% of her inventory is made in the U.S.A.
Our next stop was KaDee Kay Gourmet Kitchen Products. We found some very useful kitchen products and the prices were GREAT!
Another favorite of ours – Operation Deep Freeze. Some of the BEST Frozen Custard I have ever tasted.
There were so many wonderful shops, restaurants, and art galleries I can’t mention them all!!!
By evening we were ready to EAT! And eat we did. The 3rd Thursday of the month is Mt. Dora’s Food Truck Bazaar. . Trucks are centered at the parking lot on Alexander Street and West Fourth Avenue. The hours are 5:30 to 8:30 pm. There are so many choices. From Lobster rolls to Southern BBQ and everything in between. And don’t forget dessert. I saw an ice cream truck, cupcake truck, cookies, and so much more. You will definitely NOT leave hungry.
The next Food Truck Event in Mt. Dora will take place on Sept 27th.
Stay tuned to hear about the rest of our Mt. Dora FUN!
