This week I took a drive over to Mt. Dora, FL to check out the city. If you have not been, I am here to tell you that it is a wonderful, relaxing, and beautiful town to visit. Whether you live in Central Florida, or your headed here for a visit, be sure to visit this quaint town-it really is a hidden gem here in Florida.
I’m going to break my review into a few posts.
This post is all about the beautiful Mt. Dora Historic Inn that we stayed at.

Private bath with soaking tub or shower
Pedestal sink, hair dryer
Sitting Area for reading or relaxing
Signature Soap and Shampoo
Wireless high-speed internet access (WiFi)
Individual controls for heat and AC
Iron and Ironing board available upon request
DVD/CD player with Movie Library
We stayed in Miss Elsies Room
It was a very comfortable and spacious room. Our private bath was very, very large and roomy as well!
We had a wonderful night sleep. It was very quiet and relaxing. In the morning we headed out to the front room and enjoyed a delicious meal provided by the inn-keepers.
Breakfast included juice and coffee, sweet potato pancakes, vanilla bean citrus soup, and a three-cheese soufflé. The pancakes were delicious. My sister and I both thought the pancakes tasted like pie! NO SYRUP or BUTTER NEEDED for these. They were delicious. The soufflé was just as tasty. Perfectly fluffy and just plain delicious!
The inn-keepers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They offered great tips on what to see, where to eat, and what to do in the area. Ana and Jim were very friendly and shared their story with about how they became inn-keepers. You can tell they absolutely LOVE what they do.
Overall, our stay at the Mt. Dora Historic Inn was awesome. I highly recommend it for a quiet, relaxing weekend away. Or a romantic getaway! I absolutely loved waking up to a quiet, calm, comfortable house. The staff was very friendly, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was just perfect!
