ORGANIZE YOUR COUPONS
I do NOT cut out all my coupons from the newspaper because I get MULTIPLE papers each week. Instead, I file my coupon inserts by date! Did you know that the date is typed on the spine of the insert? I didn’t realize this for months! Each week, when my papers arrive (I receive 4 subscriptions) I remove the inserts, and file them in hanging files, by date & insert name. For example, my labels for the paper I get on September 27th would read:
I have one folder full of 9/27 Smart Source and another for 9/27 Red Plum inserts.
No need to clip every single coupon UNTIL you actually need it! The reason this works so well is because websites that have store matchups will list the date/section that the coupon came in-so they are easy to find!
I also have a binder to keep all my loose coupons (blinkies, mailed coupons, etc)
Quick addition…if I find something that is clearanced/in-store sale that I wasn’t prepared for – I buy it anyway and the next week when I come back for the next grocery trip I stop at customer service with my receipt/coupon for my refund!
I realize that not everyone can do that, but that is what works for me. 🙂
Be Sure to PIN this so you don’t lose it!
