Ahh Valentine’s Day! I hope everyone is hitting up all of the after Valentine’s Day clearance going on right now. I mean..can anyone ever have enough chocolate? I don’t think so! I was bad this year and waited until the day before Valentine’s Day to pick up some treats for the kids. However, I did still save some money because I didn’t go overboard like when they were little. I have three athletes now that are much more serious about keeping their junk food intake down than they used to be. Which is great. It’s great for all of us because they can stay strong and healthy and I can eat their candy!
Let’s talk after Valentine’s Day sales. It’s really my favorite time to grab some goodies. Chocolate hearts, bars, and more. Even if you’re keeping sweets to a minimum, the post Valentine’s Day sales also include adorable stuffed animals, heart decor, and more. My local Publix had four carts overflowing with items that were half off. And by the looks of how much is still there, it will only be a matter of days before those prices will be slashed even further I’m sure. Currently, the carts full of goodies were marked 50% off.
I found these amazing delicious chocolate hearts that I am going to bake with. I love finding items in these after holiday sales that I can continue to use well after the holiday! I haven’t decided if I should make peanut butter blossoms with them (I will replace the usual kiss candy with the heart), or putting the chocolate heart INSIDE the cookie before baking to have an ooey gooey inside. And now…I’m hungry.
Let’s keep in mind that along with all this delicious chocolate eating, comes responsibility. We don’t want to overdo it, but a little indulgence every now and then isn’t too bad. We also don’t want to forget about our teeth. There are 3 things that I always brush immediately after enjoying: coffee, diet soda, and chocolate/sweets. I have to make it a priority for my family, especially this month, to make sure we are using a toothpaste with extra protection to combat the extra sweet treats. Crest Pro-Health is our family’s go-to toothpaste.
My kiddo with braces keeps a tube on hand at school. He has to brush after lunch, doctors orders! And he is pretty good about it too. We keep a tube of Crest Pro-Health in his backpack, and another in his bat bag along with a travel toothbrush.
We choose Crest Pro-Health in our home because it is accepted by the American Dental Association to treat all seven attributes:
● Freshens Breath
