Great job (as always) Crystal! Does anyone happen to know if any of the Publix stores in Lake County take expired PQ within day or 2 of expiration??
Thank you Summer! You would have to ask your Publix. I’ve personally never tried it.
I really do like when people post their shopping transactions because it helps me to better see how to work some deals that I otherwise would have not thought of….but I’m sorry to say that I get just a little bit critical sometimes. How did you get so many Softsoft peelies? I hope we don’t shop @ the same Publix because there probably wasn’t any soap left on the self for anyone else. One day I went into Walgreens to get one of the machines that test your blood for my husband that has diabetes. With the coupon the mach was going to be free. The woman ahead of me took the last 4 that were on the self. We got into a conversation & I told her I am the only one working in our home & we really needed to replace the mach that we have because ours wasn’t reading his sugar correctly (we don’t have health ins). She told me she donates them all! Really! I am all for couponing & donating but don’t clear a shelf to donate when there are people taking the time to coupon & drive to the store to support their family. The various food banks & government agencies that help people with food stamps should hold couponing classes to teach people how to better help themselves. I wish I had started seriously couponing years ago, it is so rewarding to me. Sorry, I just had to get this off my chest.
I agree with you – I dislike when people clear the shelves. The softsoap handsoaps however is a different story. Have you looked for them at your store? Mine (this is Mary, so I’m speaking for myself-I’m assuming Crystal’s Publix had the same experience) had a shelf full of these, plus 2 full bins of them. They overstocked them. I personally went to two different Publix’s to get 8 from each store. But i feel like i could have purchased 20 at each store and been just fine. They really overstocked this time around. EVERY SINGLE bottle had peelies.
This is NOT a usual occurrence however. Usually there are just a few.
Again, I’m speaking for myself. But I’m pretty sure every Publix had an overstock on these. I don’t know if every Publix had the peelies on them though?
I ended up going to 3 different stores, where I bought 10 at each. I was all over town on Thursday, so I stopped in as I was passing until the last one when I got the cold stuff too. I personally am keeping about 15 of them for my household, I just gave 9 of them away last night 🙂
If it is something I will not use, or I don’t know someone that will use it, I won’t take all of them, ESPECIALLY if someone is there telling me they need it. I’ve even offered my stuff to people that have mentioned they’ve needed it right there on the spot. If I am going to donate it anyways….why not give to someone right there that I meet personally?!
Yes, all of the stores I went to had the peelies. I had actually taken 10 the week before we knew the sale was coming up, because I was hopeful they would go on sale before the green flyer coupon ended. For items we need & use, I will definitely get as many as I feel we need to supply our family & the families we help through my couponing. 🙂 🙂
Thank you for responding to my rant so sweetly. I think it’s important for all new couponers to know that you don’t believe in clearing the shelf & are curteous to others, by either going to different locations or as in my case I will go several different days to stock up. I’ve been upset about the Walgreens incident for a while now & I’m sorry that I took it out on you this morning. I appreciate all everyone does on this website to help me stretch my dollars. Love ya all.
Margie, if you are new to couponing, in my opinion you had some very legitimate gripes. First of all, couponers do not remove peelies from items unless they buy them right then and there. To take the peelie and leave the item, in my opinion, equates to stealing. Please do not think that this type of action is acceptable to most couponers.
Did the carefree pantiliner deal end Friday or is it still good? Great shopping trip!!
Yes, the deal ended Friday, as the new Green Flyer comes out today.
Thank you 🙂
i dont understand the codes with the coupons like pg or tq and usually there is a link to print the coupon but I didn’t see any.
At the publixs in winter springs areas there were no peelies whatsover on any soft soap.
I will be updating the printables with the links. (It was late last night when I was working on the post) 🙂
TQ – Target coupon
PQ – Publix coupon
I shop at the Holliana Publix on 17-92 in Winter Park and they didn’t have any peelies.
I was lucky to find some with peelies, though 50 cents for handsoap isn’t a bad price either! I bought 30 total, and already gave away 12, 4 to each of my kids’ teachers, and will supply the teachers again in the fall!
2 Maybelline Eyeliners – 25% off of $2.49
(2 $1/1 Maybelline 4/15 RP; 2 $1/1 Maybelline TQ Printable)
Final price: $1.87 each
Is this correct? 25% off would be $1.87-2 = .13 MM
My Publix did not overstock the Softsoap….all peelies were gone by the time I got there on Friday, but I’m sure the people that bought them needed them more than I did. As for taking the peelies off the product before buying, I toyed with the idea on Monday when I was in there, but I don’t feel that is appropriate, so I bought 10, paid .50 each and was happy and guilt-free.
Do you have another Publix close by? Where are you located? We have 4 within a few miles (crazy I know!) The peelies were ON the bottles, so I didn’t even have to peel them off, the cashier did as I purchased. You can also see when the next truck is coming in if your store is out of the soap. It’s also possible that there were no peelies at your store. I’ve had a few readers say that theirs never had the peelies.
Id love to know how they choose what stores get peelies. Wish I knew that!!!
