This weekend my family visited Sea World to take part in the Just For Kids! Event. Every Saturday from Jan 12 – February 2 Sea World is celebrating kids with fun events geared towards preschool age & younger elementary age children. I brought along my 4, 6, and 10 year old children to check it out.
First we headed over to Shamu’s Harbor to enjoy some kid-friendly rides. The kids spent some time climbing the ropes and sliding down fun slides. And then we headed over to the rides. They enjoyed the roller coaster, tea cups, merry go round, and MORE! If you have not visited Sea World in a few years, you really should check out all of the wonderful changes they have made.
Shamu’s Harbor has expanded. It is HUGE! I remember visiting when I was young and WOW it has grown! My kids (and I) really appreciated rides geared toward their age and size. My 4 1/2 year old was able to ride on EVERY ride in Shamu’s Harbor. And, if she wanted to ride alone, she could. She felt so grown up. And I appreciated that fact that I didn’t have to ride the teacups. We don’t get along very well at this age!
After having an awesome time playing, we headed over to the Nautilus theater to enjoy a kid-friendly concert. The Imagination Movers were taking the stage this weekend. It was a spectacular show. The band really got the kids on their feet and moving! I even joined in a few dances. Below is the schedule for the rest of the event:
Jan 12 Imagination Movers
Jan 19 Laurie Berkner – Solo!
Jan 26 Choo Choo Soul with Genevieve
Feb 2 Kratt Brothers Live featuring the stars of Wild Kratts
All of the above events are included in your admission. There is no extra fee. You will need to grab tickets for the Nautilus Theater shows. You can do that right across from the Nautilus theater anytime throughout the day. But, don’t wait too long, these are first come first serve – so grab those tickets early!
There are many other fun kid-friendly things to do – like Elmo Rocks! and MORE. You can find more details HERE.
Here are a few more pics from our visit. The kids had a really good time!!
Looks like you guys had a ton of fun! We went a few months back and my kids enjoyed everything Sea World had to offer especially my 5 year old she felt so grown up also riding the rides 🙂
That sounds like such a super fun event! Right now I would be happy to just get out of our cold Northern winter (your pictures make me a little jealous!)
It looks like you guys had so much fun! Michael would love to see Choo Choo Soul!
What a fun event for the kids! I have never been to Sea World, but I’m dying to go and take the kids!
