Walmart No Longer Accepting BOGO Deals at Walmart Prices
Walmart Florida Beta Testing of BOGO Matching ENDS. Last October Walmart started beta testing BOGO (Buy One Get One FREE) Ad Match Deals here in Florida. Those of us that live and shop here in Florida were able to take a competitor ad into Walmart and if an item was on sale buy one get one FREE, Walmart would not only match the sale, but they would match it at the WALMART SHELF PRICE. This meant that items were already an amazing low price. And offering that amazing low price to go BOGO was even more amazing. Walmart continued with testing this policy in Florida for an entire year.
The deals were amazing. I for one, shopped weekly at Walmart using the BOGO policy. But, there were also downsides to this policy. The shelves could not stay full. After the first few months the word got out and it was nearly impossible to find many of the items at Walmart. The limit of 4 items didn’t seem to help at all. And it seemed to me that Walmart didn’t order extra inventory for these sales. Which made customers very mad.
After 12 months of beta testing, the BOGO Ad Match at the Walmart Shelf Price is now over. Walmart will still match bogo sales, but only if the price of the item is listed in the competitors ad. Walmart will match the BOGO at the competitors price listed in the ad. Many couponers and shoppers will discontinue shopping at Walmart for the BOGO’s as there is no longer a big advantage to shopping at Walmart over the competitor.
Walmart is trying to push it’s Savings Catcher. If the “Savings Catcher” finds a competitor has a cheaper price than Walmart, you will receive the difference in an E-Gift Card. Even the most seasoned couponers forget a deal every once in awhile, so this is great to make sure you’re saving the most you can.
